Hard Drive Data Recovery
Data recovery is used to recall or recover data from any storage media facing data loss disaster. Data recovery works in a situation of accidental deletion, hard drive accidental formatting, Windows reinstallation, partition loss, system booting failure and much more. Data Recovery refers to a situation of recovering specific information which becomes inaccessible due to logical or physical damages of the targeted storage device.
Essentially, storage drive failures can be categorized into 3 general levels. For many recoveries, we’ll be able to perform recovery right here at our lab in Seattle. We are highly successful in dealing with level 1 and level 2 recoveries. For projects that require level 3 recovery service in a cleanroom, or for special circumstances, your drive would have to be sent out to a lab for cleanroom services..

-
Level 1 – Early stages of failure, low level failure and/or accidental deletion/loss. The most common type of failure. Very likely be a successful in-shop recovery.
-
Level 2 – More intensive failures involving firmware, circuitry, and more advanced mechanical failures. Good chances for in-shop recovery, but may need to be upgraded to tier 3 service for full recovery.
-
Level 3 – Catastrophic failure. Typically requires cleanroom level service. The most difficult type of recovery. Level 3 cleanroom services required and a pricing quote from a 3rd party recovery service would be provided.
The truth about advanced data recovery
Many recovery projects are misdiagnosed as requiring level 3 recoveries, often adding excessive cost to a potentially straightforward recovery project. With us, you can be assured that we’ll always accurately diagnose your project and offer honest advice and accurate quotes for recovery.

Why cleanroom level service may be required
A clean room is a specially controlled environment completely free of airborne dust, dirt and hair particles. Technicians working in a clean room environment wear special suits, masks, shoes and gloves. This is needed due to the nature of drive based storage. Any particles that get onto the surface of a disk will permanently render the data unrecoverable.
